Today, after church, my children and I drove to Ashland City to meet a friend. As we returned home, exiting I24 at exit 4, my son noticed a man holding a sign to advertise a sale at a local store. The wind was whipping and the poor man was crouched behind it trying to stay warm. As we pulled away, we decided to stop at the service station and get the man something warm to drink. When we returned to the spot, my son got out and walked towards the man. He held out the cup of hot chocolate and told the gentlemen we saw how cold he looked and wanted to get him something to warm up. The smile on his face as he thanked my son was something I will remember for a long time. Just a couple minutes, a couple of cents, and kind word. I'm sure this isn't the last time I will have the opportunity to show my children it's not always the size of the gift, but giving with you heart that counts.

This Sunday Grace Community Church sponsored 84 children through Childcare Worldwide. Amazing! This was the ministry's largest single sign up day ever! Grace truly does have some incredible people!

I have been helping a baby boy in Vietnam who is in need of heart surgery. I've done this on a personal level and feel so blessed for the experience. There is an doctor 'angel' in Vietnam who arranges these life saving surgeries.

In view of the whole NextGenerosity theme I decided to do something in my business I had never done before. I wrote a letter to all my customers who had not paid their bill in over 6 months and told them they were "Paid in Full". I explained to them in the letter that Jesus taught us to pray, "Father forgive our debts as we forgive our debtors" and I wanted to forgive them. I did ask that they pay me going forward, but past debts were considered paid. A week after I mailed those letters, forgiving thousands of dollars I had the right to collect, I got a large check in the mail from a customer who had not paid me from 1996. This person did not receive a letter and I no longer had their file. I had forgotten all about this person's debt and would never have expected to receive it. God truly has a sense of humor! I'm glad I followed his lead.

Today a lady came up to me and handed me a book saying that God told her to go buy it for me. My immediate response was gratitude but then I thought does she know about NextGenerosity? She's from out of town so I don't think she does, but today she showed me generosity and I wanted to post her story. She had tears in her eyes because she had done what God asked her to do. I can't wait to start reading.
